All Stewards, Health and Safety Representatives, and Branch Officers are elected by members of the Branch. Once elected paid time off for undergo relevant training organised by UNISON or the TUC is given. In order for a Steward to be able to advise, represent, and negotiate on behalf of the Branch and members they are required to be accredited under the Employment Rights Act. To become an ERA accredited Steward they have to do either the Steward Induction Part 1 or the TUC Union Reps stage 1 course. Steward Refresher courses would also lead to accreditation as well as re-accreditation. To become a Steward complete the Branch Workplace Rep Nomination Form. A booklet on training courses run by UNISON Eastern Region can be requested from the Branch Office at unison@cambridgeshire.gov.uk. A UNISON Course Application Form will be provided within the training booklet and can also be downloaded. Stewards, Health and Safety Representatives, and Branch Officers who are authorised to work on behalf of the union can claim for travel and subsistence from the branch by completing the Branch Claim Form. When representing a member, Stewards will ask them to complete a UNISON Case Form. This will track the case and will form the basis of getting further help from the Branch or Region. an injury at work are requested to complete a UNISON
