Our commitment to our activists
As a Branch Activist we will support your learning through access to Steward, Health & Safety Rep, ULR and any of the Branch Officer training courses, that are available.
As a Branch Steward, we are well aware that those first cases are challenging. We will offer a mentor to support your learning and practice. This will remain in place until your confidence grows and you are able to progress cases yourself. The Branch will always be available for advice, guidance and will continue to support you in any way that is necessary.
The Branch is committed to adhering to the latest NEC guidance contained within the Scheme for the Accreditation and Training of Unison Stewards/Workplace. Click for details.
Activist Learning
The Branch has organised a training day on 12 December 2024. The title of the day is Equality in your Branch. Along with Racial discrimination, this training forms part of the mandatory training put forward by the NEC at NDC in 2022.
The training will be in-person and on-line (hybrid) and as it is a mandatory requirement for Branch staff and Officers, there should be no issues with requesting this time off.
It will also be a good opportunity to meet the new Regional Officer, Sam Earl.
The Branch has sent out emails with joining instructions, so please respond and attend where you can. The day starts at 09.30 and will finish at 16.00.
Contact the Branch for more details if needed.
