Cambridgeshire County Councillors Reject motion and deny Migrant Workers support and protection.

In an unprecedented move of callousness and disrespect, County Councillors voted down a Labour motion which supported the Branch Overseas Workers Charter.   The council employ many workers from Overseas, all are carrying out challenging and difficult and essential work on behalf of the Council.  The Council's Social Work teams, where moral is at all time low, with workers resigning daily to protect their registration in an environment of excessive caseloads, bullying, harassment, and fear.

The Reablement service is reliant on Overseas worker's to deliver the much needed support to elderly and vulnerable clients across the County.  Often working in poor conditions, paid amongst the lowest in the Council, working unsociable hours and travelling excessive miles to deliver.

In addition, there are hundreds if not thousands of Overseas workers who are delivering on the Councils commissioned services to the hundreds of care companies
