Reform Party in the County Council
Reform in the County Council is not immune from disaster or controversy, please read below to see what Reform are up to in CCC.
Andy Osborn hit the headlines again in April 2026. The Ely Standard reported on 15 April about Andy posting what is described as a fake message about a candidate in the local election in May 2025. It seems Andy posted a damning fake message about a Conservative candidate because he was angry she had suggested he was a racist in public, a court has heard. In court, the prosecution allege that Andy Osborn, 74, broke election law when he was chairman of the North East Cambridgeshire Reform Party, and made Samantha Hoy a “target with anger” during campaigning in the run-up to the May 2025 local poll for Cambridgeshire County Council. Osborn made false allegations against Samantha, alleging she was sacked and fraud, neither are true. Ms Hoy reported the matter to the police and took screenshots of messages, which from the account Osborn is alleged to have said “I have taken a lot of slander in reference to me being a racist, I have family who are black and I am proud of them.” Osborn told the court that he does not have relatives who are Black.

In January 2026, after sitting for a short period as an Independent, Watt joins Advance Party Cambridgeshire councillor Des Watt joins Advance UK after Reform and independent stints - News for Peterborough and Cambridgeshire
Watt said the move from Reform reflects desire over 'principle over personality' in politics. Advance is a far right political party Advance UK - Wikipedia. Their Leader Ben Habib fell out with Farage when he was removed as Reforms Deputy Leader in 2024. It appears Reform was not far right enough.
Who can forget Andy Osborn's first brush with controversy. Comments made by the Reform Councillor last year when he described Children in care as 'evil'. Cambridgeshire councillor's 'evil' remark appalling, says Starmer - BBC News Osborn was of course moved from the CYP committee shortly after this comment.
At the February 2026 Staffing and Appeals Committee, Reforms Councillor Colin Galbraith made his views known on Public Sector pay which is 'running away' and Pensions. It is clear from his remarks, that he and Reform believe we are overpaid and have a pension scheme that will be changed, should Reform ever be elected.
